According to Tinder, the first Sunday in January (today) is “Dating Sunday” . . . the busiest day of the year for online dating.
On Dating Sunday, they see an extraordinary surge in people updating bios . . . uploading photos . . . sending messages . . . and responding to them.
In fact, Tinder said that people respond to messages 19.4 minutes faster on “Dating Sunday” than on any other Sunday of the year.
They didn’t say WHY, but it’s probably a mix of: Fresh starts for the New Year . . . New Year’s resolutions . . . and the start of a more “available” period, after months of holidays, gatherings, and being around other couples.
By the way, this isn’t just Tinder. A few years back, someone from Match called “Dating Sunday” the “Super Bowl of dating apps.”
