Taylor Swift Experiences a Scary Stage Malfunction

It happened when Taylor was performing to a sold out crowd in D.C. Monday night. Between songs, the extendable stage stopped working. “They just told me in my ear that I might be stuck up here forever,” she told the crowd during her gig. “This thing is broken.” She continued, “I was just thinking about how I was singing a song about rain and it rained today…it’s not that funny…We’re just gonna have to re-choreograph the entire show. It’s fine. Whatever. It’s gonna be a unique show D.C.!”  Fortunately, the stage was fixed in minutes allowing her to finish the show with true style. “I’m so happy, you guys!” she told fans. “I didn’t know what I was going to do!”Minutes before the malfunction, guests were treated to a surprise guest.  Lorde joined Taylor on stage to perform her massive hit “Royals”. Sports Illustrated Will Have 25 Covers for the U.S. Women’s Soccer Team

Sports Illustrated’s July 20 issue will make history with 25 different covers of the U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team that won the World Cup, featuring every player, coach Jill Ellis and a group shot. “On Tuesday, July 7, we alighted on the idea of one cover for each of The 23, plus a 24th for the coach,” SI managing editor Chris Tone said. “The USWNT has plenty of recognizable, even famous names, but we couldn’t think of a group so thoroughly identified with a team as this one. We could go two ways: a team shot, which seemed a little conventional here or something different and fresh: honoring not just one or two players, but all 23 of them with their own cover. Each player deserves her own cover, that’s what we settled on.” Get more here.

Are Serena and Drake Dating?

Serena Williams doesn’t just have another Wimbledon title under her belt.  She also has Drake.  They were reportedly spotted kissing in the clubhouse after one of Serena’s wins. A source says, quote, “Publicly she says they’re just friends but Drake has been by Serena’s side throughout the tournament and when they’ve been away from the public and relaxed, it’s been pretty obvious that they are together.” Drake and Serena have been friends for years, and they briefly dated in 2011. Brandy Performed on the Subway in NYC, and Nobody Cared

You remember Brandy, from Moesha? She’s currently starring in the musical “Chicago”. She burst into song on a subway car full of New Yorkers while dressed in her gym clothes and dark shades. “I took a little subway ride after I’d left the gym, I decided to hit the subway and sing my little heart out. You’ve GOTTA check out this video and see why this fun-filled morning left me asking: Can a Sistah get ONE fan?!” Brandy sang Whitney Houston’s “Home” but the people on the subway completely ignored her. When Brandy asked for some feedback “What ya’ll thought of that? Ya’ll think that was cool?” She got no response from anyone on the train. It may seem harsh, but to be fair New Yorkers are used to being inundated with subway performers, they really are everywhere. Get more here.

$1 Million Reward Offered for Stolen Judy Garland Slippers

An anonymous donor has offered a $1 million reward for information leading to the recovery of Judy Garland’s sequined, ruby red slippers. The shoes were stolen from a museum in her Minnesota hometown. Judy wore them in the The Wizard of Oz. Three other pairs still exist, including one on display at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington. John Kelsch, executive director of the Judy Garland Museum in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, says the donor is from Arizona and is a huge fan of Garland and the Wizard of Oz. The reward offer requires the exact location of the slippers and the perpetrator’s name. The 10-year anniversary of the theft is in August. The slippers were insured for $1 million, but they could be worth $2 million to $3 million now. Get more here.
