Is Taylor Swift Insuring Her Legs for $40 Million?

Taylor Swift’s legs are easily among her best features, and she knows it.  That’s why she’s having them insured for $40 million. At least that’s what various tabloids are saying.  With Taylor’s 1989 Tour kicking off in May, her people reportedly went to an insurance company to see what they’d be worth, and that’s the number they got. A source says, quote, “She thought her legs were possibly worth a million.  But $40 million shocked her.  She’s even a little embarrassed about it.” Swift joins a long list of Celebs with insured body parts. Mary Hart famously insured her legs in the ’80s, but more recently so did David Beckham, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tina Turner, Heidi Klum and Rihanna. Both Jennifer Lopez and Kylie Minogue got butt insurance, Dolly Parton and Holly Madison insured their boobs, and Julia Roberts got her smile covered. Get the full story here.

A Jury Ruled that “Blurred Lines” Does Rip Off Marvin Gaye

A federal jury ruled yesterday that “Blurred Lines” DOES rip off the 1977 Marvin Gaye song”Got to Give It Up”. And they ordered Robin Thicke and Pharrell Williams to pay Marvin’s kids $7.4 million.  The Gayes also sued T.I., who appears on the song.  But the jury let him off the hook. During a week-long trial, Gaye’s family brought in a musicologist who testified that there was a “constellation” of eight similar elements in the two songs. Their attorney also noted that in several interviews, Robin said he told Pharrell he wanted to write a song like “Got to Give It Up”, and that Pharrell had said he tried to pretend he was Marvin Gaye while writing it. Robin, Pharrell and T.I. released a statement saying the verdict, quote, “sets a horrible precedent for music and creativity going forward.”  And it sounds like they plan to appeal. Michael Bolton Played Michael Bolton in ‘Office Space’

Funny or Die has made dreams come true for Office Space fans everywhere. If you remember the cult classic, one of the downtrodden IT workers is named Michael Bolton, and it’s a constant source of annoyance to him. When his cube-mate asks why doesn’t he just go by Mike instead of Michael? He responds with “No way! Why should I change? He’s the one who sucks!” Originally, Michael Bolton (the singer) originally wasn’t very happy about the comments made in the movie. However, over the years Michael has come to like the movie, and the attention. Enter Funny or Die and some decent CGI… and we have Michael Bolton, playing Michael Bolton… watch and enjoy! Tim Burton To Direct a Live-Action “Dumbo”

Tim Burton will direct a live-action “Dumbo” remake.  And no, Johnny Depp won’t be dressing up like an elephant, at least we don’t think he will, because they’re mixing live actors with computer animation. Disney has been turning a lot of its old cartoons into live-action movies lately, including Burton’s own “Alice in Wonderland”.  There’s a sequel coming that he’s NOT directing. Last year’s “Maleficent” was a new take on “Sleeping Beauty”, and “Cinderella” comes out this Friday.  “The Jungle Book” and “Beauty and the Beast” are also on the way.  There’s no word yet on a cast or release date for “Dumbo”. Bruce Jenner’s Sex Change Docuseries On Hold

Bruce Jenner has stopped production of his docuseries chronicling his transformation from a man into a woman, because he feels pressured by producers and has concerns about his family. Bruce has two big issues, he wants to make sure his 3 sons are “in a good place” to handle the radical change he’s undergoing. Also, the recent car crash, in which a woman died as an apparent result of his inattentiveness, has had such an emotional impact on him that he needs to deal with it before proceeding with the docuseries. Bruce’s interview with Diane Sawyer is proceeding on schedule, and is expected to air in May. Get the full story here.
